About

Hello!

My name is Anne and I am an artist and writer whose work has a focus on mental health wellness. I am also a trauma-informed, National Board Certified Health & Wellness Coach with a specialty in mindfulness and emotional intelligence.

But I just call myself a Creative Health Coach.

I believe that how we spend our days is how we spend our lives. I believe that the state of our nervous system directly affects how we experience the world around us. I believe in the wisdom and healing energy of creative expression. And I have lived and learned this firsthand in my own art and wellness journey.

Engaging in the arts is a health behavior.

Creative expression is a fundamental element of overall health and wellness for body, mind, spirit, and community. Human beings are inherently creative and yet many of us adults have forgotten how to flex our creative muscle. Creative practices are good for you and you do not have to be exceptional at it to experience the benefits!

There is wisdom in there by Chirp and Moo

My classes & workshops support those wanting to participate in the arts in an informal community setting. We rediscover how to play with art supplies. We find the courage to try new things. We dial down the outside world and connect in community.

Creativity is action and it is also a state of mind. We explore practices that we can integrate into our lives today, as they currently are. To reap the benefits of a creative practice, you need to have one. And to have one, it must be practical and sustainable. I want you to find a way to incorporate creativity into your life right now. In short, let's build a life you don't always feel like you need a vacation from.

What is "Chirp and Moo"?

The first character I drew so many moons ago was Betsy the Cow. A few years into drawing little cartoons of her, I decided she needed a friend. Then came Lou. He's a little bird and he and Betsy are best friends. I believe everything in life boils down to our relationships, beginning with our relationship with ourself. I began exploring stories through Betsy and Lou and their relationship with each other and their community (Ridgeway Valley Farm). These stories were the basis of the seven children's books I have self-published.
